after many time, they answered me, saying that they were going to get the dron and controller back, so they can check them out and give me a solution. Then, I texted them, telling them the issue with the karma dron and the controller, they don't pair. I subscribed to the membership, I paid the full one. I haven't turned it on since March though, hopefully it'll still be working next time I use it. It was a long and tiring process with constant contact with GoPro support, but they sent me a new karma core and everything worked perfectly! I remember contacting GoPro support by phone and sending some screenshots and videos through a link they send to your email I've lost count on how many times I updated the drone, paired/unpaired and also updated the gimble, the controller, the camera. The support recommended me to sign up for a paid subscription and get the 2 weeks (or 4 weeks?) free trial in order to process my enquiry in I started by contacting GoPro service by phone and explaining my issue, also mentioning that many people online were having the same issue. I've read many threads online about this issue and followed what some people did and it worked the same for me! I'm gonna explain briefly what I did because I can't remember the details and correct order I got my Karma core replaced by GoPro last year when I was unable to pair the controller. Sadly, we will probably never get an answer out of GoPro, so all we can do is share our experiences and laugh at their stock price. For most of us, this problem coincides with the camera stabilzer that stops functioning.Īdd your name to this list, with 2,348 others: įile a complaint with the Better Business Bureau: Īnd let it go. **The issue in question is the controller no longer pairing with the drone, often immediately after an automatic firmware update. Myself and 2,300 others have simply been ignored for several years, and are now creating this thread to let the community know how disappointed we are in GoPro customer support. I know GoPro ended its drone program several years ago, but their complete lack of willingness to even acknowledge the issue, and the fact that many people, like myself, witnessed an update that seemed to cause the break, has many of us feeling that they may have intentionally grounded the drones. There has not been a response of any sort.įor some people, GoPro support says they will only help if you are a paying subscriber and if you pay even more to get a replacement, yet for other who are subscribed, they just say we're out of luck. Last year we sent a letter to GoPro HQ with more than 800 of these signatures, asking them to simply respond to the problem - even if there is no solution. Since then we've received more than 2,300 signatures of customers who are experiencing this problem and who GoPro has refused to acknowledge or address. They banned me from their website, so I went to YouTube. In 2020 I posted on the GoPro dot com community forum that my Karma drone had suddenly stopped working after a suspicious mandatory software update, and asked any others if it was happening to them.
